Well here it is at last! We have spent a lot of time talking about our ideas for our new brand but we have always been too busy working on fun projects for our clients to focus on ourselves.
However seeing that we spend most of our time stressing to clients and prospective clients just how valuable a strong brand is to any business, we decided we should really make the time and take our own advice. This has given us a great insight into being ‘the client’. Of course we understand how emotionally attached people become to their own brand but this was certainly highlighted to us when we had to make scary decisions about the future of the Entyce brand.
Although we recognised that we had outgrown our original logo we didn’t know where to start with the rebrand, which isn’t something we are used to with our constant stream of creativity.
We started with the name, our registered company name is Entyce Creative Limited, however over the years ‘Creative’ has been dropped by both ourselves and our clients. We are now on a first name basis relationship.
Once we had shortened our name to Entyce we started thinking about fonts and icons. We explored various options which just didn’t fit right with our friendly yet professional character. We finally found a suitable typeface which we tweaked and re-drew until we were happy with the result.
Following this, we started to explore colours. Our original brand was a moss green, however, we wanted to be brighter and bolder with our new image. We came to the conclusion to retain the green yet opted for a much more vibrant hue which works much better online.
Once the typeface and the colour had been perfected we all felt something was missing to complete our look. Again having tried and tested many options for an icon we decided that a simple full stop completed our brand entirely. We have always been known for the supporting circles within our brand so the full stop offers a modern and simplistic continuation of this element.
By introducing the complementary dash of magenta, it effectively links Entyce to another part of our business – The Entyce Design Awards.
Our logo is designed to be flexible in its usage; you will notice on our website the typeface is white and the full stop is green. We feel that it’s important for a brand to be used in a consistent manor but it should in no way restrict or inhibit the owner.
