Colin Furze, inventor slash internet stuntman known for previously creating a mobility scooter able to reach 72 miles per hour, has now built a firework-resistant suit.
Claiming it is the “stupidest thing I’ve ever made” in his corresponding YouTube video, the stiff metal suit allows the wearer to get an up-close firework experience.
Made via hydroforming the high-pressure hydraulic fluid shaped the welded sheet metal into the final ‘half tin man/ half jack-o-lantern design. With its toothy grimace, it definitely isn’t the most fashionable or comfortable attire however it does offer serious protection.
Furze tests the suit himself, exposing himself to both fireworks directly attached to the suit as well as £500 worth of near-by pyrotechnics; he remains safely inside.
With Bonfire night fast approaching, and safety campaigns always predominant in the media, is this the new outfit of choice for November 5th?
We think we will still stick to wooly hats and gloves and keep our distance…
