Getting the most out of your website

Marketing Executive

Your website is one of your most important assets when it comes to marketing your business. In a competitive market, first impressions count, and as your website is often one of the first things a prospective customer will see, it’s important to get it right.

More often than not, the solution is simple. Just a few simple tweaks can improve user experience and give your potential customer an improved overall perception of your brand. So, with this in mind, how can you get the most out of your website?

Getting the most out of your website

Clear contact details

One of the most common mistakes we see is a lack of contact details and contact forms. You could have the most engaging, well-designed and high-ranking website out there, but if your customers cannot clearly and quickly find out how to get in touch, then these all mean nothing.  Ensure your contact number is displayed prominently in the header of your website, and have multiple call to action buttons throughout which lead to your contact page.

The navigation of your website is one of its most effective tools. Visitors should be able to reach the page they’re looking for in just a couple of clicks. Therefore, if important pages are hidden behind multiple others, this will have a significant impact on user experience, which plays an important part in search engine optimisation.

Redirect deleted pages

We may often come across 404 (page not found) errors, they can become frustrating for users, and not to mention a red flag for search engines! There are a number of reasons why you might delete a page, from removing an outdated article to deleting a service page that is no longer offered; but whatever the reason, these pages should always be redirected to an appropriate alternative.

Keep it updated

Making regular changes to your website is very important for not only keeping visitors engaged with your company, but to improve your ranking on search engines. Whilst you may not necessarily have changes to make to your services pages, areas of your website such as blog, resources or FAQs will almost certainly have fresh and relevant content for you to add that will keep visitors coming back to your site.
