With technological developments increasing at an exponential rate, the moment where software becomes so advanced and self-aware that it goes beyond our capacity to understand and control is fast approaching.
With apocalypse theories now becoming more predominant in today’s media, such as zombies and The Walking Dead, some are now saying that an Artificial Intelligence-driven apocalypse is fast approaching.
Elon Musk, the SpaceX and Tesla entrepreneur believes that A.I. doom is approaching faster than anyone suspects; within the next 5-10 years.

Musk, who states he is super pro-technology, is a current investor of DeepMind, an artificial intelligence company and comments that unless you have personal exposure to groups such as DeepMind, you have no idea how fast the pace of progress is in relation to A.I.
And he is not alone. All leading AI companies recognise the dangers and have taken numerous steps to ensure safety. However they all believe they have the knowledge to shape and control the digital super intelligence. Only time will tell if they are right…
